Is a Frenchie right for me?
The honest answer. High cost, high maintenance, high reward — if you're ready.
Meet Spike
I'm Spike's dad. He's a dark brindle French Bulldog, 7.5 years old, living with me in the Dominican Republic. We've been through gastritis, bladder issues, seasonal allergies, and the daily challenge of keeping a brachycephalic dog healthy in tropical heat.
This guide is what I wish I had on day one. No sponsors. No corporate agenda. Just what I've learned the hard way — confirmed by veterinary science where possible.
This is not veterinary advice. Always consult your vet for your Frenchie's specific needs. But this guide will help you ask better questions and catch problems earlier.
